class demonstrators

Working as a class demonstrator is a great experience for a dancer. They will work as an assistant with the teacher and help maintain an organized class. Dancers need to be at least 13 years old to assist in classes. They must be experienced in and taking class themselves in the style(s) that they are assisting with. There is no fee to do this and no payment except the experience of learning how to teach from our experienced staff. They will also be recognized at Recital and expected to help get their class(es) ready at showtime.

ANNUAL recital

There will be a formal showing of all of the student's work at the end of the year at Sentry Theater @1800. The show is the culmination of the year's hard work and a very fulfilling experience for all involved. See the calendar for dates and times.

costumes

Each class will receive a costume per the instructor's selection for the annual Recital. The fee for costumes is not included in the class tuition and is as follows:

Music & Movement: $ 47.00, Children sizes: $ 58.00, & Adult sizes: $ 65.00. Costume pricing is subject change per manufacturer's pricing.

Costume payments are due approximately the middle of the second term. See the calendar for exact date. Students need to register & take class for the entire year to be prepared for a quality performance at the end of the year.

studio cancelations due to weather

Closings will be on the studio answering machine, the website, and sent to the email address supplied at registration. The make-up time for the classes will also be listed through these sources.

refunds

There are no refunds for missed classes unless there is an injury or extended illness with doctor's excuse. For the occasional missed class, you may attend another class at a similar level.

class size & placement

Classes are based on both age and level. If you are unsure of placement, we will help you find the correct classes. If you register for an inappropriate class, you will be notified of the correct class for your dancer.

If more than 15 students are registered for a class, another section will be opened up at a different time. We appreciate anyone who would transfer to the new time in order for everyone to have a fulfilling experience.If class enrollment is less than four, the class may be cancelled or combined with another class.

pointe work

Dancing on pointe is a very rigorous and advanced skill. One must have sufficient training to accomplish this. A student needs to demonstrate good alignment throughout the body and turnout of the entire leg. They must have sufficient strength in their legs, feet and ankles. They must be able to work in a focused manner in class and have the desire to work on pointe. These guidelines are all in place to avoid injuries and problems that can be caused by pointe dancing. The student must be at least 12 years old with at least 3 consecutive years of ballet experience. And it is up the instructor when the student is ready to go on pointe. Once on pointe, it is highly recommended to be taking ballet at least twice a week.
